Filmmaker King Hollis sits down with WFAA to discuss documentary about Quakertown, Texas
A little piece on a documentary I produced in 2024.
All last year I was very lucky and privileged to produce a documentary for my favorite creatives / directors Lindell Singleton and King Hollis. It lead to learning so much and meeting some of the smartest and the most fascinating people -- including descendants of Quakertown.
Check out this interview with King and see sneak peeks of some of the footage we shot. We didn't just capture interviews -- we filmed historical reenactments and events both on location with actual homes from Quakertown and on The Volume Stage at AMS Pictures with our friend Jason Starne.
Everyone involved worked really hard to bring this story to light. And I hope this leads to telling more stories of damaged, bulldozed, erased, bombed, moved, flooded, and paved over Freedmen towns all over this country.
It wasn't just Tulsa and Seneca Village -- it was everywhere.
We're not just on the stolen land of the Indigenous.
